When the time comes to execute the will, the executor must apply to the Registrar of Probates or the Supreme Court of Victoria to have the will approved as legally valid. Approval is called a grant of probate.
Don’t confuse grant of probate with probate duty, which was a government ‘death’ tax that is no longer charged.
