Name & Description of Peer Support Services Offered:

The Peer Support Program provides the opportunity for people living with Multiple Sclerosis, their families and carers, to be supported by others who have a ‘lived experience’ and have undertaken specific training.  Trained Peer Support Volunteers offer their time in a voluntary capacity to support others. Peer Support Program has three streams - telephone support, online support and face-to-face support groups. People are able to choose the type of contact that best meets their needs and what they feel most comfortable with. Our Peer support services are free and highly confidential. It often helps to talk to 'someone who understands' who can provide practical and emotional support.   Please make contact with MS Australia and talk to the Peer Support Program staff - 'it could make the difference'.

Meeting Times & Venues

There are over 32 face-to-face Peer Support groups currently operating throughout Victoria, being part of a group provides opportunities to share information and experiences for mutual support. The online moderated chatrooms are open from 8.00pm-10.00pm (Mon-Fri) and 1.00pm-2.30pm (Wed/Thurs)    No matter where you live, one/one telephone and online support provides the perfect opportunity for you to connect with others.  Our volunteers may be a person with MS, family member or carer who are there to listen and offer support.
