Crohn’s & Colitis Australia
Level 1, 363 Camberwell Road
Name & Description of Peer Support Services Offered:
Peer Support Groups
CCA Support Groups are self help or mutual aid groups. This means that all of the members of the group, including the facilitator, are impacted by Crohn’s or colitis. The groups meet regularly in community venues in an informal environment where every person has the opportunity to contribute, and where everyone can receive empathy, support and understanding.
Telephone Peer Support
CCA Telephone Support is offered to our members who are unable to attend a support group or who may require specific support for a particular part of their IBD journey, such as needing surgery, medication complications or needing personalised emotional support. We match our members with one of our trained peers for a one off phone call or a series of calls agreed between the member and the peer.
Meeting Times & Venues:
Peer Support Groups are continually expanding and we hope to make them available in every community throughout Australia where there is a group of people living with IBD.
